Early Female Impersonator Recordings
Rae (or Ray) Bourbon, female impersonator and vaudville performer (recorded 1930s-50s), was most noted for his "risque" and comedic monologues.
Gene (or Jean) Malin, also known as Imogene Wilson, was an openly gay, drag performer (recorded two known songs in the early 1930s). An automobile accident in 1933 cut short Mailin's career.
