Early Jazz Recordings
In the early 1900s, voices of gay and lesbian life could be heard in jazz songs and recordings.
Straight and Gay (released in 1979 by Stash records) contains jazz songs with gay and lesbian content recorded in the 1920s through the 1940s. In 1996, MOJO records released Sissy Man Blues which is another compilation of songs.
