Honor Thy Womanself

In 1972, members of Boston's Unitarian Universalist Arlington Street Church formed the Arlington Street Women's Caucus and released their first record on Rounder, Honor Thy Womanself. The album contained orginal songs by member Carolyn McDade, however they covered the popular women's movement song "I am Woman." While a feminist group and not necessarily a lesbian group, their albums have been embraced by lesbian-feminist listeners.

The church has been at the forefront of progressive social movements since the 1960s. On May 17, 2004, the very first state-sanctioned same-sex marriage was performed at the church.
